Simulation games worth the storage space

Simulation games worth the storage space

August 29, 2026 · Markus Vogel

Simulation games are a strange genre on mobile. The great ones are endlessly satisfying; the bad ones are just timers dressed up as gameplay. The difference usually comes down to whether the systems reward your attention or just your patience.

Tiny Port Tycoon is a good example of the former. It starts small and simple, then layers in enough complexity that optimizing your little harbor becomes genuinely absorbing. And it never asks you to wait for a real-world clock.

The trick with sims is finding one whose loop you enjoy repeating. Some people love logistics, others love decoration or balance. Try a few and pay attention to which one you reopen the next morning.

For offline play, sims are ideal. They save locally, run fine without a signal, and reward short sessions as much as long ones.
